Barbara McCabe is a DGA director and producer with over 20 years of experience in broadcast and cable television and multimedia content.
She has contributed to numerous Emmy nominated programs including: The Dr. Phil Show, Katie! (Katie Couric), Anderson Cooper Live!, and Bethenny, where she produced the popular Bethenny in Your Business segment, teaching entrepreneurs how to create a strong message and maximize their business success.
She has written and produced several highly rated, award winning docu-reality programs for Discovery Networks, TLC, A&E Networks and CNBC (America’s Money Class with Suze Orman).
Barbara is Executive Producer of Story First Films Inc., She produced and directed the web based documentary mini-series Brotherhood of Silence, the Story of a Whistleblower Priest, which is currently in development for a feature film. She also directed and co-produced the web based documentary mini-series, A Special Kind of Wrong, documenting the everyday struggles of a traumatic brain injury patient. Her follow up series titled Life on the Inside is in pre-production.
Barbara has also worked with major pharmaceutical advertising clients to develop messaging for patient education media. Her unique productions for Glaxo Smithkline’s HIV/AIDS Education division won multiple Telly and Cable Ace awards and set a precedent for incorporating documentary content into patient education programs.
Early in her career Barbara worked as an actress and on-camera talent in New York City and performed in commercials, TV shows, films and Off Off Broadway productions.
She is a member of the Directors Guild of America, Screen Actors Guild and AFTRA and a magna cum laude graduate of Emerson College.
